May 27-May 8: No new Art assignments for the remainder of the year! If you have turned in everything prior to this day you will end Art Class May 8. If you are missing work or are failing you will continue "School" or the Learn From Home Program to complete your Art assignments until May 22.

Needed Materials:
-Natural items outside - such as flowers, sticks, leaves, or rocks OR items from your home that you can use to make a mandala
-Computer/ Device
-Digital Camera - This can be on a phone.
-Ability to Upload Photos to Email to Mrs. Dahl or send via REMIND

TERMS TO STUDY:
- Environmental Art - The production of artistic works intended to enhance or become part of an urban or other outdoor environment.
- Geometric Shapes - These are shapes that have names you recognize and are typically not found in nature.
- Organic Shapes - These are shapes that can be found in nature (like a leaf) or are free form (like the shape of an ink blot).
- Value - This is the different lightness or darkness of a color. For example, sky blue is has a light value, and navy blue has a dark value.
- Texture - This is how something feels or how it looks like it feels.
- Pattern - This is a repetition of an art elements (such as lines or shapes).
- Radial Balance - This is a type of balance where the elements are arranged equally around a central point, as in the spokes of a wheel.
- Mandala - This is a type of art that uses patterns along with radial balance.

HOW TO TURN IN WORK:
1. Take a photo of your artwork and include your full name and class code at the bottom or in the email.
2. Make sure your photos are cropped to only show your artwork
3. Include all photos of artwork into the least amount of emais to Mrs. Dahl by sending small photos at a low resolution or small size. (email: [email protected]) or Use REMIND.
4. Make sure the email includes your full name & class code (ex: 6-1)
5. Your grade will appear in Parent Portal on Mondays.
-Failure to Turn In work will result in a zero. Late work will be accepted with parent request and discussion.
